Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 106424
Wrong message concerning too many rows instead of too many columns shown
Last modified: 2009-11-26 11:51:45 UTC
When importing a CSV file, the warning message that "maximum number of lines exceeded" appears even though only 408 rows were actually imported. The limit on CSV files is reported as 64K rows. The CSV file in question contained 573 rows of text and numeric CSV data. It was 145 Kbytes in size and does not contain any unusual characters or sequences. I would be happy to email a copy of the file used as this will aid diagnosis of the problem.

The file in question has now been attached. Note: I encountered the same problem 2 days ago with another file
Reproducible with version 3.1.1. Reproducible with version OOO320m2. In excel I can import all 573 rows. Problem is on row 184, see attachment.
Created attachment 65776 [details] comparison of OOo and excel import.
Your csv file is broken. There are unpaired quotes (and possibly missing data) on lines 184, 315, 384 and 418. If you edit the CSV file to at least provide the missing double quotes, Calc will load the file. I believe this already covered by Issue 78926
Reproducible with "Ooo 3.1.1 WIN XP DE-multilingual version German UI activated [OOO310m19 (Build 9420)]" and "2.4.1 Multilingual version German UI WIN XP: [680m17(Build9310)]" I believe this is simply the wrong message, it's the number of columns that causes the problem. After import, please look into row 184 and check last column, 'AMJ' contains "Quarterly", several further columns (,,"D","A","M") are missing.
