After updating from OpenOffice 3.0.1 to 3.1.1, I am experiencing major
performance issues with drawing text gradients on remote displays. Changing the
slides and generating the preview takes significantly longer, than with the
previous 3.0.1 version of OpenOffice, using the same slides. Using a local
display it is faster, but still slower than in 3.0.1.

Have there been any recent changes regarding this routine? I could imagine, that
something may be causing the screen to be updated much more frequently that
before. A test sample is included.
