I created a document by copy / paste some html? content from webpage into word 
processor. I edited doc and saved as microsoft word format. Every time I try to 
open file it just hangs and eventually prog "not respoding"

It would helpid I could attach file, but no provision to do this ?

Reproducible with "DTM-OEE overview.doc" and "Ooo 3.1.1 WIN XP DE-multilingual
version German UI activated [OOO310m19 (Build 9420)]"! Same problem with
"Ooo-Dev 3.2.0 multilingual version English UI WIN XP: [OOO320m7 (Build 9461)]"!
and
"2.4.1  Multilingual version English UI WIN XP: [680m17(Build9310)]"
Works with 1.1.4, so regression.

WORD viewer opens document without problem.

Even after I opened and saved with 1.1.4 (and also after I deleted images with
1.1.4) OOo3.1.1 will hang when I try to open document.

"Ooo 3.1.1 WIN XP DE-multilingual version German UI activated [OOO310m19 (Build
9420)]"!

.SXW created from "DTM-OEE overview.doc" using 1.1.4 will be opened using 3.1.1.

Also happened in 3.0.1. Removing "regression" keyword.

@hbrinkm: please have a look.

Reassigned to OD, this again is a loop in core not in the filter.
