Trying to open a document stored as .rtf I am being given an Error Message that
says "File format error found at 867,7 (row, col)." 
I have opened this document several times, adding and saving half a page at a
time. Then it decides it can no longer be opened. This is the only copy I have
of this material!
And the second time I have copied material from the same source, saved it half a
page at a time, open and closed the document several times and suddenly get the
Error Message. The first time the row and col numbers were different, but the
effect is exactly the same. i can not open the document. 
What the Heck????
