Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 108408
Crash when pasting table from browser as RTF
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:44:07 UTC
- search some travel info on this site http://www.9292ov.nl/9292ov1.asp - paste in Writer - select pasted table and paste as RTF > Crash
Created attachment 67254 [details] Test document with explanation & screenshots
Created attachment 67255 [details] document with table as pasted from the browser, where it all started
Is regression. Also: I expect it to be the problem that was fixed in issue 62859 and 80941
There are several crash reports sent to the server. I recieve report ID's irregular. But if anny arrives, I 'll give it of course. If searching in the Database on sender helps: oolst@nouenoff.nl is the mailaddress. The first error report was sent around 10:15 or so this morning
I cannot reproduce this crash. To me it looks like a problem of the installation - having a look at the stack of the crash report gives me that assumption. The report reveals that the crash happens in database module... this can definitely NOT be th case here...
Closed.
@mru: are you sure you've seen the right stack? I have not touched Base at all today. But I did test with Base recently and a had crash from that. I have not received an Cr.Rep ID from this issue yet.
Maybe I got the wrong report... it was the only one sent by oolst@nouenoff.nl I have found. So the others you sent maybe still in queue... However, I was not able to reproduce. I tried on Win and solaris. Cor, which Browser did you use for copying? I tried with FF 3.5 and IE 8.
Hi Michael: am working on Ubuntu 9.10 with FF 3.5.7 I will test on XP this evening. I can reproduce the crash 100% sure with the document. A pitty that my CR ID's are in a que ;-\
- cannot reproduce the crash on Win X with 320m9 - cannot reproduce te crash with 3.1.1 on Ubuntu (the same) - crashes also if I start 320m9 with a fresh user profile on Ubuntu ... I know some people on the users mail list with Ubuntu. Gonna ask their experience. Curious about the Error reports ..
Hi Cor, I can now also reproduce the crash on Linux. Windows & Solaris works fine...
MRU->HBRINKM: This problem is Linux-only. Open the second attached odt, select all and paste as "RTF" below the original content -> crash. It looks that it crashes in the filter lib.
Crash report ID is r98wfwc.
Opening the doc tstIssue108408_PasteThisTableAsRTFMakesOOoCrash.odt: no crash in: $ cat /opt/openoffice.org/basis3.2/program/versionrc [Version] buildid=320m8(Build:9472) OOOBaseVersion=3.2 OOOPackageVersion=3.2.0 ProductBuildid=9472 ProductMajor=320 ProductMinor=8 ProductSource=OOO320 Ubuntu 9.10 2.6.31-18-generic #55-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jan 8 14:55:26 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux It _does_ crash using the go-oo/Ubuntu 3.1.1 version of OOo: $ cat /usr/lib/openoffice/program/versionrc [Version] AllLanguages=en-US BuildVersion=openoffice.org-core 1:3.1.1-5ubuntu1, Thu Oct 22 20:13:41 UTC 2009 buildid=310m19(Build:9420) ExtensionUpdateURL=http://updateext.services.openoffice.org/ProductUpdateService/check.Update OOOBaseVersion=3.1 ProductBuildid=9420 ProductMajor=310 ProductMinor=19 ProductSource=OOO310 UpdateID=OpenOffice.org_3_en-US UpdateURL= UpdateUserAgent=<PRODUCT> (${buildid}; ${_OS}; ${_ARCH}; BundledLanguages=${AllLanguages}) Vendor=Debian and Ubuntu
Just tested with 3.2RC3: $ cat /opt/openoffice.org3/program/versionrc [Version] AllLanguages=en-US buildid=320m10(Build:9477) ExtensionUpdateURL=http://updateext.services.openoffice.org/ProductUpdateService/check.Update OOOBaseVersion=3.2 ProductBuildid=9477 ProductMajor=320 ProductMinor=10 ProductSource=OOO320 UpdateID=OpenOffice.org_3_en-US UpdateURL=http://update34.services.openoffice.org/ProductUpdateService/check.Update?pkgfmt=deb UpdateUserAgent=<PRODUCT> (${buildid}; ${_OS}; ${_ARCH}; BundledLanguages=${AllLanguages}) No crash there either.
@noop: thanks for testing. Just to be sure. I your first report you wrote: "Opening the doc ...: no crash in:" You also did the actions as described in the document?
Add me to cc. I reproduce the crash with FR version of OOo 3.2rc3 (OOO320m10) under Ubuntu 8.04. My OOo profile is new but customized. Same crash with a profile not customized. Kind regards. JBF
Cor, I only initially tested by opening the tstIssue108408_PasteThisTableAsRTFMakesOOoCrash.odt I've just opened your first attachment tstIssue108408_PasteThisTableAsRTFMakesOOoCrash5.odt and followed the instructions to select & paste the table as RTF. I pasted the table both in the above doc, and in a new doc & neither crashed using 3.2RC3 (buildid=320m10(Build:9477)). I'll need to retest using buildid=320m8(Build:9472) on another system as I now have 320m10 installed on this system. Ubuntu 9.10 2.6.31-18-generic (Gnome), 2.4Ghz/1GB/nVidia NV25GL [Quadro4 900 XGL] w/compiz turned on.
OK. I've tried the above (copy table and paste as RTF) in both buildid=320m8(Build:9472) and buildid=320m9(Build:9476) as well, and no crash. I can also try in 320m7 if you'd like. No issues with tstIssue108408_PasteThisTableAsRTFMakesOOoCrash.odt in those either. One thing I should note, although it shouldn't have anything to do with the crashes you may be seeing, is that my user profile for my standard OOo's are located in /home/<username/.openoffice.org3. In order to have standard OOo installed with the Ubuntu OOo, I always modify the bootstraprc to: UserInstallation=$SYSUSERCONFIG/.openoffice.org3/3
hi Gary, thnks for your results. NOt the same as mine, but OK... Yes I handle the user profile in that way to.
news from the error report server: one of the IDs is rm9fcwc
Maybe this is a dup of issue 109284.
@mru: the issues description is a bit different, but if it can be solved together with i109284, i110055 it must be the same ;-)
@Cor: Yes, the description is differently, but the stack reads very similar. So the root cause may be the same.
Thanks Michael, good to see it for 3.2.1 :-)
Confirmed. This one does not appear in CWS hb33issues01. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 109284 ***
