Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 108709
Writer corrupts comments larger than 16448 characters
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:15:18 UTC
1. Open a new empty writer document 2. Open the attached file in a simple text editor (such as KEdit or Kate). DO NOT USE OOo! 3. Mark all text in the file and Copy it to the clipboard 4. Insert/Comment. Place cursor in the comment box in the side bar 5. Paste the text into the comment 6. Scroll to the end of the comment text. You'll see the end of the text is deploying a ne Microsoft communications system If you look at the original text you'll see that OOo has replaced the "w" from "new" with a line break. This bug has been introduced with the new side bar comment system. NOTE: This is NOT a copy'n'paste bug. If you do the above procedure with OOo 2.4 and save the document and then open it with OOo 3.x, OOo corrupts the comment, too.
Created attachment 67439 [details] Example text to demonstrate bug
The problem only occurs when the long text doesn't contain its own line breaks.
confirmed....you can also make it crash somehow deleted text at the end
as a wild guess, this is somehow related to a paragraph limit of the EditEngine
Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
