Description kelvine 2003-01-25 02:03:54 UTC
Hi,

I find it almost impossible to find issues relating to the Html Editor. This
is a fantastic albeit basic editor. Good enough to get anyone started doing
their own website. I used it to create mine and found lots of short comings
which I worked around. I even wrote a course for people to write their own
web site using this HTML Editor as the editor of choice because I think it is
a great product to get people started.

It seems Html Editor is seen by you guys as an extension of Writer. As a user
if I have a Html Editor problem or issue I would expect to look first for HTML
Editor issues which simply does not exist.

OpenOffice.org is a great product and with PDF support under Windows will be
even better. Microsoft no longer have Front Page Express and charge
separately for Front Page which was previously free as part of Office.

This means PDF support and HTML Editor are features which can be pointed to as
being better than the commercial Office alternatives.

Help me help you by making HTML Editor have it's own component. Then I can
easily find if bugs I find have been found before. Then I know I will be
reporting problems to the correct area.

(As a note I have now started using 643 with the idea of locating bugs if
necessary at my own inconvenience.)

Thanks for the alternative. Keep up the good work.

obviously it make sense to have more components at hand as they actually are
presented to our users. the problems is, that this will end up with quite a lot
components which will have a n:1 relation to the actual code.

I think a possible fix could be to extend the description of the Word Processor
component, which is displayed when entering a new issue.

mh->ama: can you think of a more complete description of the word processor project.

I added " and HTML editor" to the description of the sw-project.

Hi,

Thanks for making the effort.

Unfortunately in the area of submitting issues or finding issues I can see no
change.

Thanks

Kelvin

Yes, you're right. My changes are only visible as project summary at my start
page :-(

Martin, my request is to change the description of the word processor component
at the "Enter issue" page, which appears if somebody wants to submit an issue.

Sorry for the long delay. We finally picked up your request and changed the
