Description pmike 2010-03-13 08:02:09 UTC
note: requires OOo build with "chartshapes" CWS integrated, i.e. OOo-dev m74 or
later

1. create new Calc doc, enter few values, create simple chart
2. copy any cell range into clipboard and paste it into chart (it will be places
always on left top corner, but moveable)
3. leave chart focus by clicking on any cell

chart becomes "invisible" (sometimes copied values are visible), "bring to
front" command doesn't work.
but it is selectable by mouse click and editable by double-click
removing copied cell range will make chart visible again

@pmike
Please attach a sample document and a _precise_ step by step instruction
containing every mouse click and every key press.

chart within green border
Comment 3 pmike 2010-03-13 08:42:01 UTC
@rainerbielefeld
cannot reproduce? steps above are quite obvious, except maybe step 2
I'll describe it in detail

2a. leave chart area, select (by mouse) cell range A1:A3 (where chart values
placed), press Ctrl+C
2b. double click on chart, press Ctrl+V
2c. copied cell range will appear "behind" chart but will be outlined with green
dots and moveable by mouse
2d. OK, indeed, moving pasted object (cell range) is _necessary_ to make chart
"disappear"
2e. click anywhere to remove focus from chart
Comment 4 Rainer Bielefeld 2010-03-13 09:45:49 UTC
@pmike
I'm sorry, but your new description did not help me very much, several question
are leaving:
With what OOo version did you do your latest test?
Why 'A1:A3'? that's NOT the range with the chart values! Please decide what
range you want to copy

I can not confirm that range will be inserted at top left corner
I can not confirm that range will be inserted BEHIND chart

Please see my results with "Ooo 3.1.1 WIN XP DE[OOO310m19 (Build 9420)]" in
attached demo presentation

@rainerbielefeld
OOo-dev 3.3.0, DEV300m75 (build 9488),
http://download.services.openoffice.org/files/extended/developer/DEV300_m75/OOo-Dev_DEV300_m75_LinuxIntel_install_en-US_deb.tar.gz
Well, it was A1:A3, but I've moved them to make green border; also, copied range
doesn't matter.

Anyway, it seems affect only Linux, because you've opened my sample OK in Windows.
Comment 7 Rainer Bielefeld 2010-03-13 10:26:04 UTC
Can't help here, seems to be Linux-specific
Comment 8 kla 2010-03-17 14:03:50 UTC
In case of required build "chartshapes", Thomas is this something for you?
Comment 9 pmike 2010-06-13 21:59:03 UTC
I presume issue 111235 describes same problem, and it was fixed.
Comment 10 thomas.benisch 2010-12-15 15:35:32 UTC
This issue is fixed on the master (DEV300 m94) and duplicate
to issue #111235#.
