Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 11042
Including pictures into a document
Last modified: 2013-02-24 21:08:24 UTC
I would like to know how to include pictures into a document, independently of their location. I mean if I delete the pictures from the hard drive, I want them to stay in the document. I know how to make the inclusion in Java but not the property to set to do this?
Sounds like a question about the api, changing component to api...
It is not a documentation issue, it is a definition, and then an implementation issue. The feature is simply neither defined nor implemented. Actually, there has to be a separate definition for TextDocument (TextGraphicObject) and Spreadsheet/DrawingDocuments (GraphicObjectShape), thus two separate implementations. I will define the new properties, but the implementation has to be done in the two implementation projects.
not in 6.1 anymore, is an enhancement (new feature)
Dieter, could you please take care and throw it in at the approprate time :-)?
This feature is important for portable uses.
DL->AW: Would you please take care that this will be implemented in all apps?
Seems as if the problem is that using API a graphic can only be set as a link, but will not be embedded. This again seems to go back to not having a component for importing pictures. And this again seems to have to do with time reasons. For 6.y this is a valid and necessary expansion, i will need some time to query necessary informtion for this task.
AW: I will need to collect some knowledge about this issue.
AW->KA: Please use the planned GraphicExporter to adapt thi sone.
KA: changed priority, since this task doesn't fit in P2 category (new Priority P4)
Set to new target "Office later".
an example of how to embed an image into the document can be found on oooforum.org , see http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?t=14979 . resolved.
