Spellchecker -- apparently I lost it when I upgraded to Open Office 3.2.  I
don't have an "abc" check in front of my font when I run thru the dropdown menus
as you say to.  I've spent an hour downloading the English US dictionary
extension but can't find a way to save it.  My computer wants a name that I can
use so as to ADD it to the hard drive.  There is no name on the download page.  

Obviously this can be handled by some people, but I shouldn't have to be an IT
specialist to download and use a dictionary extension.
