Description krabina 2010-04-08 16:06:53 UTC
Hi,
when exporting a German text including Umlauts (special characters), the
resulting mediawiki.txt file does not display the characters properly.

Exporting directly to the server works, though. Must be an issue of not
outputting an utf-8 formatted text file...

The problem is also present if an english text with special characters is
exported (see attachment).

If i choose "reload text with encoding UTF-8 in jEdit, the text gets displayed
correctly as follows:

This an „english“ text, exportet with OOO320m12, Build 9483 in Windows XP.

It could be that I just do not understand the problem.

The filter produces UTF-8 text, as result no all the editors on Windows detect
it because most of them expect text in Windows encoding. Actually this is no bug
at all.

probably you are right.

I have used the filter in previous versions and never encountered this problem
before, but in fact it seems to be a problem of the editors.

Sorry for that.
