Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 111036
Bengali Numbers revert to Latin in Table
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:25:38 UTC
Using Ubuntu 9.04 with the openoffice bengali package installed. We're experiencing an issue where index numbers and phone numbers revert to English after being entered in Bengali. To reproduce, 1. create a new table 2. enter text in Lohit Bengali Font and deselect Numbers revert to Latin (English) script I don't know if this is related Format -> Character -> Language doesn't have a Bengali Option Right click -> Formatting number to change the language also doesn't seem to have an effect.
To report here please check this problem: - in the latest build (3.2), 3.1 is too old. - in our official build and not the Ubuntu one. http://download.openoffice.org/index.html AFAIK we don't have a Bengali package but this should be reproducible with an English one (not an UI related problem). Plus please attach a sample document showing the problem.
Does it help when you disable the automatic "Number recognition" in the context menu of the table?
Yes, Disabling Number recognition seems to be a work around. Is this expected behavior? I would have thought that setting the language in the tools menu would keep the script.
MRU->OS: when entering a Bengali number (just switch keyboard input to Bengali and enter numbers) into table the number recognition will change it to a Latin number. It is the same in Calc, maybe this is same root cause / duplicate of issue 71746.
Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
