Description Unknown 2003-02-01 21:46:53 UTC
The hidden paragraph option to eliminate blank address lines when printing out a sheet of address
labels taken from a data base derived from a spreadsheet does not work. At least, I have been unable
to do so. The information I have gleened to do this describes placing the cursor in front of a
possible empty field and then inserting a condition, not(fieldname), in a condition area in a
field window, which is opened by the key combination CTRL + F2. The fieldname in my case is
DISTRICT. I have tried: not(DISTRICT), Not(DISTRICT,C,40), (DISTRICT) eq FALSE,
(DISTRICT,C,40)= FALSE and many other combinations. Note DISTRICT,C,40 is what appears in the
address window. The problem I refer to also exists as far as I can tell with Star office 5.2 and 6.0.
The method of removing blank address lines is described in 'Star Office 5.2 Companion', 'Star
office 6.0 User Guide', and that which I downloaded from your website called 'Tricks about Mail
Pagination'. All are much the same. I have already been in contact with Sun Star Office over this
possible bug and I was told that I should write a macro to perform the task! I shall make no comment
other than to say that the method descibed in the manuals and information sheet seems very
complicated and it should be possible for the user to tick an appropiate tick-box so that the
program carries out the task automatically.

Hi John,

thank you for using and supporting OOo.

Does this problem still exist in “OOo 1.1.0”?

If it does, please attach 2 OOo-documents that reproduces this problem
 _here_in_the_issue_:
very little database and a mail merge letter (or adress label)
document, both created in C:\test on your PC and attached as a ZIP
with the complete "test"- folder.

If I will not see any further action as votes, attachments or
confirmations in this issue, I will have to close this issue
2003-11-30 as WFM.

I deleted irrelevant (wrong) URL

Closing issue due to reporter's inactivity as WFM.

Please open a new issue if the problem still exists in the latest
release of OOo.
