Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 111670
RTF: import ignores pagebreak in 3rd party document (Nisus Pro)
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:19:56 UTC
Flaw interpreting stored pagebreak in Nisus Pro I use Mac OS X Snow Leopard I need to use RTF a lot, and have been using Nisus Pro as a means of tidying up rough notes from Scrivener. When I transfer these RTF files to OpenOffice Writer for final formatting, though, I seem to lose the page breaks Nisus had provided, which is a real problem. Other word processors do not seem to cause this problem. I wonder if OpenOffice is somehow failing to recognise the pagebreak in RTF that Nisus provides? Could someone look into this, please? I attach a number of small files created in Bean, TextEdit, Nisus and Mellel, with a pagebreak inserted, then opened and saved by OpenOffice Writer. All the page breaks are preserved except for the Nisus one. Many thanks, John Tranter PS: I wish I could add the attachments now; seems I have to "View" the issue; how, I do not yet know.
Created attachment 69492 [details] Sample page in Bean RTF, opened and saved as RTF in OpenOffice Writer 3.2
Created attachment 69493 [details] Sample page in TextEdit RTF, opened and saved as RTF in OpenOffice Writer 3.2
Created attachment 69494 [details] Sample page in Mellel RTF, opened and saved as RTF in OpenOffice Writer 3.2
Created attachment 69495 [details] Sample page in Nisus Pro RTF, opened and saved as RTF in OpenOffice Writer 3.2
Problem now is, that the files are useless for reproducing the issue. Please attach an RTF file produced by Nisus BEFORE you save it with OpenOffice, so we can debug when the error happens while saving in OOo.
Created attachment 69539 [details] Nnisus Pro RTF file with one page break saved in Nisus Pro
Created attachment 69540 [details] Text Edit RTF file with one page break, saved in TextEdit
MRU->HBRINKM: open attached document (the one created by Nisus pro) and see that the page break is missing.
The RTF file created and saved by Nisus Pro can be opened by Bean, TextEdit and Mellel, all of which show the page break correctly.
