Description surbun 2010-06-03 09:05:34 UTC
When writing vector, the arrow is placed quite high on the letters. Bug does not
exist on the windows version.
Comment 1 michael.ruess 2010-06-03 13:58:45 UTC
MRU->TL: it is ok on Windows and Solaris. Only Linux is affected. Having r.g.
"vec a" in Math, the arrow is displayed way too high above the letter.

I hope that there'll be enough votes so as to enable an effort toward the
resolution of this issue
Comment 3 hdu@apache.org 2010-07-23 13:31:31 UTC
Math depends on having an up-to-date OpenSymbol (containing the arrow at U+20D7). When there is a
system wide openymbol font installed, then this is preferred. When that symbol font doesn't have what is
needed there is the problem seen here.

=> get rid of the obsolete OpenSymbol or update it

An up to date version can be obtained here:
http://hg.services.openoffice.org/OOO330/raw-file/a61542f65727/extras/source/truetype/symbol/opens___.ttf
Comment 5 thomas.lange 2010-07-23 13:43:36 UTC
Note: OOO330 and current DEV300 build require the new version of the OpenSymbol
font, whereas older office versions (namely 3.2) need the old version of the font.
Comment 6 hdu@apache.org 2010-07-23 14:34:15 UTC
Or remove the system wide OpenSymbol so OOo uses the local version.

@ih: when moving the codepoints for glyphs then backwards compatibility should be mandatory. Keep
references to the moved glyphs at the old codepoints too. At lease for a while, e.g until the next major
OOo version.

Hello,

I replaced the opensymbol font from 1.21 version to 2.3.9 version in
/usr/share/fonts/truetype/openoffice directory. The bug is still here.
Comment 8 surbun 2010-07-24 15:32:26 UTC
I finally solved the problem. The font have to be installed in both the
/usr/share/fonts/truetype/openoffice and the user's personal directory.

Thanks for your help.

@hdu: I did not MOVE but COPY the glyphs - so there should be a backwards compatibility.

@surbun: If this one is fixed for you, please close the issue.

@surbun: for closing it must set to be resolved first - I am doing it...
