Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 113651
Cannot edit text because of Comment
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:33:52 UTC
Hi, the uploaded document shows a very interesting feature: If one tries to place the cursor on the first word of the second page, the cursor jumps into the headline instead. It is almost impossible to edit the text. On cannot move the cursor by pressing "down" down to the second page. Removing the comment or the first page does fix it. The example is heavily downstripped from a real world document. Greetings, Olaf

Can see the problem in OOo 3.2.1 and 3.3-dev. But it is fixed in DEV300m85 - try it out!
Closed, fixed for OOo 3.4.
Sorry to say, I tried DEV300m86 on windows right now and the problem still persists.
@oflebbe: this is only reproducible for me when the view layout is at 2 pages side by side with the comment gutter on the right side (so not in "Book mode"). Is this correct? @MRU/MOD: nonetheless I cannot reproduce it recreating the document from scratch. I's a rather complicated document (Word import) which shows a lot of page styles with headers containing sections which are for some of them protected. I guess we have an unfortunate feature combination of protected sections in header + Comment + view layout. Any idea?
I think we have a similar issue laying around somewhere else, but could not reproduce it there as well from scratch. I'll try to look into it...
@MOD: thanx for having a look at it!
Created attachment 71123 [details] Better Example
Hi, sorry to respond late... I have uploaded a better example for the problem. It shows the problem in normal editing mode too. Open test4.ode and try to click on the Word "Abt.". The mouse pointer warps to a different location. And yes, I was not able to reconstruct the problem from scratch, too. The document is an import from word and heavily edited with different word processors.
