Description jwbacon 2003-02-10 21:24:37 UTC
I'm enclosing an MS word document that doesn't load correctly in OpenOffice
1.0.2.
I tried it on both Linux and FreeBSD with the same results - the upper right
card is muddled, and the underlining is messed up on all cards.

It works fine under MS Office 2000, but the second column does not display
under MS Office 97.

MS Word doc that fails under OO 1.0.2
Comment 2 prgmgr 2003-06-27 01:23:03 UTC
Thank you for using and supporting OOo.

1.1 Beta 2 almost does a good job with the layout.

The problem is with the text boxes that contain the "Cell Biology..."
text. They are all anchored to the same table cell ( top right table
cell ) and use relative offsets ( some of them negative ) to place
them in the other cells.

As a workaround, if you manually place the "Cell Biology..." text in
each table cell, the cards come out fine.
Comment 3 prgmgr 2003-06-27 01:26:26 UTC
PM->HI: Should OOo support the complex anchoring and offset
         properties in the attached doc?

In summary, all the text boxes with the text
"Cell Biology..." is anchored to the top left table cell
and the position is determined used absolute offsets.

If you take each text box and anchor it to the appropiate
table cell using absolute offsets ( all positive values )
the doc comes out fine in OOo 1.1 Beta 2.

HI: This is not a printproblem.
HI->MRU: Please check the import.
Comment 5 michael.ruess 2003-06-30 15:46:12 UTC
MRU->AMA: the import seems o.k. All position values are correct. But:
the offending frames are all anchored to the upper left table cell.
With the changes of aig02 it should be possible to position the frames
correctly, or not?
Comment 6 andreas.martens 2003-07-23 15:34:11 UTC
No, the only objects which are allowed to leave there environment are
drawing objects. Within aig02 we implemented drawing object anchored
in header/footer with a position outside the header/footer. This is
not possible for text frames. Text frames are not allowed to leave the
header/footer/cell/textframe environment of its anchor paragraph.
For OOo 2.0 we should change this.
Comment 7 andreas.martens 2003-09-14 10:33:33 UTC
Oliver, you like to improve frame positioning, don't you ;-) ?
Comment 8 Oliver-Rainer Wittmann 2003-09-23 10:19:02 UTC
OD (23.09.2003): accepted, object positioning is my favourite.

Changed issue type to enhancement, because we have to introduce a new
option at Writer fly frames to control, if they can leave their given
layout environment (in this case the table cell) or not.
Comment 13 Oliver-Rainer Wittmann 2003-11-20 09:37:09 UTC
Fixed in internal cws swobjpos02
