Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 11373
Outlook Contacts to Data Source: not all records link
Last modified: 2008-05-16 03:30:56 UTC
I am just starting with OO 1.02 with Windows XP Home. I also have Outlook 2002. I have made my Outlook Contacts folder into a OO Data Source. Most records transferred just fine. Some get duplicated in the Data Source (annoying, but not really a problem). Some don't transfer at all. As far as I can tell, the Outlook records without an e-mail address don't get put into the OO Data Source at all. If I give an Outlook record a fake e-mail (foo@fake.com), then the record goes into the data source. Is there a way to do this without tracking down all records without e-mail addresses and entering bogus info? There are situations where I write letters to people or organizations for whom there is no e-mail address.
Marc, can you please confirm this (you have an easier access to an Outlook installation).
Hi, I can reproduce this. If a contact has no E-Mail address it will not displayed in the OOo address book. Bye Marc
After investigation and discussion, we'd prefer to postpone dealing with this issue since we can see the same behavior in Outlook. Also, reassign this issue to Fangfang. -Sean
