Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 114133
Crash when opening specific docx file
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:44:07 UTC
OOo Writer crashes on specific docx file - attached!
Created attachment 71416 [details] File which crashes OOo 3.2 writer
NOT reproducible with "Ooo-Dev 3.3.0 multilingual version English UI WIN XP: [OOo330m1 (Build 9514)]"! @saving: May be you can try with a developer snapshot version? Is a crash report ID available? Please contribute a clear step by step instruction containing all observations (error messages ...), EVERY key press and EVERY mouse click how to reproduce the problem, and explain why you believe that your results are unexpected.
I can confirm crash on opening file also in OOo 3.2.1. Will try latest development snapshot (takes time to download :) There was no key press nor mouse movements. I simply tried to open the file (double click on file in explorer). OOo crashed immediatelly. I sent error report, how can I find out report ID?
I can confirm issue is fixed in OOo-dev 3.3.0. File opens normally, no crash.
@saving: > There was no key press THAT is the important information. You can open by link from ogher document, OOo File dialog, WIN Explorer, API / macro, ..., and that might have influence. Do you also get a crash using OOo File Menu for open document? For my test I used OOo File Menu, because double click in WIN Explorer will not work for Dev Snapshot. > how can I find out report ID If you inserted your E-Mail-Address in the crash report dialog, you will receive a confirmation concerning the report ID. Please contribute that ID here in the issue. Please do not modify Issue status fields if you are not absolutely sure that you know what they are for? An issue only should be marked as FIXED if a fix for the problem can be mentioned. If the problem only is no longer reproducible, "works for me" generally is the appropriate status.
Definitely fixed in OOO 3.3. Dup of issue 108027. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 108027 ***
Closed, fixed in OOo3.3 by issue 108027.
