Description terryt 2003-02-13 08:21:34 UTC
When I last checked out anoncvs for OOO_STABLE1_PORTS a while
back, things were working fine.

Tonight (11 Feb 03) I tried again (cvs co -rOOO_STABLE1_PORTS
OpenOffice) over my existing CVS checkout, and got plenty of updates, but
got the following errors :

cvs server: cannot open directory /cvs/oo/api/www/common: No such
file or directory
	cvs server: skipping directory apiwww/common

*** Note the different directory names ***

...

cvs [server aborted]: there is no repository /cvs/oo/framework/twain

I tried the checkout again, and got the following error immediately :

	cvs server : warning: /cvs/CVSROOT/val-tags read/write: Permission
denied

and the checkout continued until I received :

cvs server: cannot open directory /cvs/oo/api/www/common: No such
file or directory
	cvs server: skipping directory apiwww/common

*** Note the different directory names ***

...

cvs [server aborted]: there is no repository /cvs/oo/framework/twain

again.

I don't know yet if I am missing anything.

I did notice that I had to wait 30 secs for a lock held by another user to
be obtained, while I did the second checkout.

Martin, any idea?

Maybe there is a flakey server or network connection. Here is what I got
tonight :

[ecstasy:Users/terry/openoffice] terry% setenv CVSROOT
:pserver:anoncvs@anoncvs.services.openoffice.org:/cvs
[ecstasy:Users/terry/openoffice] terry% cvs login
(Logging in to anoncvs@anoncvs.services.openoffice.org)
CVS password:
Unknown host anoncvs.services.openoffice.org.
[ecstasy:Users/terry/openoffice] terry% ping anoncvs.services.openoffice.org

[ecstasy:Users/terry/openoffice] terry% cvs login
(Logging in to anoncvs@anoncvs.services.openoffice.org)
CVS password:
[ecstasy:Users/terry/openoffice] terry%

Then I tried the checkout again, and I got a number of errors of the form :

cvs server: existing repository /cvs/oo/installation/helpcontent does not match
/cvs/installation/helpcontent
cvs server: ignoring module helpcontent

When I last looked, it was stuck on :

cvs server: Updating rvpapi/prj

I might try removing my "openoffice" directory, and doing a clean CVS
checkout next time.

Hi Terry,
it seems your local working copy results from checkouts from different
cvs servers. Path names with "oo" (like /cvs/oo/api/www/common) come
from anoncvs.openoffice.org.
First, We are moving to anoncvs.services.openoffice.org.
Second, we had problems with the CVSROOT modules file.
I agree, the best would be a clean checkout from
anoncvs.services.openoffice.org.
Feel free to reopen, if the problem occurs again.
Thanks, Stefan.
