Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 114655
CTRL/CMD G should be 'find next'
Last modified: 2013-07-30 02:43:42 UTC
Problem: CMD-G on OS X does nothing (and hence I assume similarly CTRL-G on windows/linux) Expected: on all other apps, CTRL/CMD-G is 'find next'.
@Rvojta: it seems that Command-G is "Find the next occurrence of the selection" on MAC OSX[1] Our choice is Ctrl+Shift+F, more intuitive (*F*ind) than "G" in English. If you decide to align this for the MAC version, please take care about our Design Guideleines[2] and especially about the localization[3] where "G" is sometimes already reserved (Spanish "Guardar" = "Save") http://wiki.services.openoffice.org /wiki/Keyboard_Shortcuts_Specification_Guidelines [1] http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1343 [2] http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Keyboard_Shortcuts_Specification_Guidelines [3] http://specs.openoffice.org/g11n/menus/LocalizedShortcuts.sxw
On EVERY other OS X app it's: CMD-F: find CMD-G: find again. This is also a standard on GNOME, with CTRL instead of CMD of course.
