Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 114870
Fontwork Can't use multiple fonts
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:38:26 UTC
If I highlight the entire text I can change the text of a fontwork. If I want to change the font of the middle few words, or last word to a different font, it ignores the changes. Same seems to go with bolding and such.

Created attachment 76181 [details] Fontwork ignoring font size Relative Font size is the feature I need most. I'm trying to print CD/DVD labels, with the top half in one arc, and the bottom in the other. After trying to align more than about three fontworks around a common center, Oo bogs down and gets so unresponsive that it took me about six hours to align one label. I'm moving on to find something else that can edit curved text as I can no longer edit the text after several fontworks are grouped together, and too many individual objects hang Oo, at least with my label alignment template in the background I'm running OpenOffice 3.3.0 (Build:9567) on a 2.8Ghz six core AMD Phenom II X6 1055T Processor running 64-Bit Windows 7 Pro with 4Gb of RAM, so I'm pretty sure the problem is not due to lack of resources. As I'm writing this, I see the status of this bug is unconfirmed, so I'm uploading an example of the problem.
Title: Fontwork Can't use multiple fonts Description: When creating a Fontwork, the user may want to have certain characters of it be different formatting. In the word processor, the user is not able to have different style for one Fontwork. Version: Developer Snapshot 3.4.1 build for Windows. Reproduction Steps: 1)Create an OpenOffice Text Document 2)On the drawing toolbar, click the Fontwork Gallery button and select a style 3)Double click the Fontwork and highlight part of text that appears 4)Try changing the font or the size, or adding a bold, underline or other such formatting. This does not show the change to the Fontwork.
Changing font of single characters is indeed not possible, therefore a valid enhencment request.
