Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 11575
Add a choice of Metric or US measurements during install
Last modified: 2008-05-19 08:07:04 UTC
I would like to see accommodation made to the US market during installation. I think there should be a choice of Metric or US measurements. Choosing US would set the basic measurements for all appropriate areas to "inches" and set the page size to "Letter".
Hi Bettina, please have a look.
Hello Jim, thank you for reporting your issue. I changed the prio, because prio 1 only makes sence in case of e.g. crashes, freezes, data loss.
Set to "NEW"
I have a better idee. I recomend getting the measurements units and default page size from the OS settings (at least for Windows OS). This is very important for Europe market.
In the 1.1 rc's when I install it seems to find the default settings of my computer (US measurements - inches and page=Letter) for my Windows and my Linux computers. Nice touch. Thanks!

It looks like a fix to this issue was made quite some time ago as all the releases since 1.1 seem to detect country settings automatically. I have seen this in Windows and Linux releases. As the originator of this issue I would consider it resolved.
