This bug can reproduce on OOo writer 3.3.0-rc7.
Clicking or typing something on the yellow area would freeze writer while apply the
chinese truetype font.

Thanks

Cannot reprocduce on ubuntu with DEV300m94. Could you please give short and
precise which steps I have to perform in the document to get the freeze?
Comment 4 minhsien0330 2010-12-22 14:37:25 UTC
Please follow the six steps:
(1) Download the chinese font
wget http://cle.linux.org.tw/fonts/cwttf/center/cwheib.ttf
(2) Install the font
mv cwheib.ttf ~/.fonts
(3)
fc-cache
(4) Download the odt file
wget http://www.openoffice.org/nonav/issues/showattachment.cgi/75357/freeze.odt
(5) Open the odt file
/opt/openoffice.org3/program/soffice freeze.odt
(6) Try to typing something in the yellow area.
Move mouse cursor and click on the yellow area. If WRITER is still not freezed,
typing something in the yellow area will make it.

Thanks~

MRU->OD: You have to install the mentioned font on your system. Then open
document any enter some tet in the yellow marked area on page two -> Writer will
loop
I was only able to reproduce this as described on Linux. On Windows, you first
must get rid of the page break from page two and three (e.g. by deleting two
rows in Table1).

I uploaded a odt file that would freeze writer on Windows.

Please follow this 2 steps:
(1) Install this font:
http://cle.linux.org.tw/fonts/cwttf/center/cwheib.ttf

(2) Open this file with OOo Writer
http://www.openoffice.org/nonav/issues/showattachment.cgi/75649/freeze-for_win.odt

(3) Select and delete the blue text area at the end of the odt file, writer will
be freezed.

Thanks~

Dear all:
Can this problem be solved? This bug is annoying to me for 2+ years.

I found the download link of font is broken, I post a new link here.
http://debian.nctu.edu.tw/debian/pool/main/f/fonts-cwtex/fonts-cwtex-heib_1.0-2_all.deb

Extract the .deb, then you get the font.

I guess this maybe a problem of table behavior.
And I think this may involve something wrong about chinese (or CJK) paragraph dealing mechanism in table, because I only meet this problem when I typing Chinese characters in a very long table ( and this table must goes across many pages).

Thanks a lot~
