Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 116241
Limbu (Nepal) [lif-NP] locale data
Last modified: 2017-05-20 10:30:53 UTC
I would like to submit locale data for Limbu (Kirati) as used in Nepal but I have questions about some of the fields that aren't answered in the documentation. I attach my first attempt to declare this data.
Created attachment 75430 [details] Limbu Nepal Locale Data (lif_NP.xml)
Thank you for your contribution. Please note that to integrate code or data contributed we need a signed Contributor Agreement form (SCA) filled-out, if you didn't already, see http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Sun_Contributor_Agreement To be able to lookup your name in the list of approved assignments I'd appreciate if you stated your full name here in this issue. Thanks Eike

Apologies...I have misunderstood something or done something wrong. I entered this data and created the xml using the locale generator at <http://www.it46.se/localegen/>. I thought it's inclusion there implied permission. If that's not the case, I'll sign the SCA and send it. I also had additional questions about some of the fields for this locale. Should I just ask them here or wait until I hear that something is happening?
It slipped my attention that the locale data apparently was created using the it46 tool. Yes, their copyright grants contribution to OOo. Note that I swapped the content of QuotationStart/End (which were double quotation marks) and DoubleQuotationStart/End (which were single quotation marks) elements. You might want to fix that at it46 as well. If documentation available at http://www.it46.se/localegen/docs/index.php http://hg.services.openoffice.org/DEV300/file/tip/i18npool/source/localedata/data/locale.dtd isn't sufficient please contact the dev@l10n.openoffice.org mailing list. When test compiling I got Warning: FormatCode formatindex="12" for currency uses parentheses for negative amounts, which probably is not correct for locales not based on en_US. Warning: FormatCode formatindex="13" for currency uses parentheses for negative amounts, which probably is not correct for locales not based on en_US. Warning: FormatCode formatindex="14" for currency uses parentheses for negative amounts, which probably is not correct for locales not based on en_US. Warning: FormatCode formatindex="15" for currency uses parentheses for negative amounts, which probably is not correct for locales not based on en_US. Warning: FormatCode formatindex="17" for currency uses parentheses for negative amounts, which probably is not correct for locales not based on en_US. I used similar format codes as in the ne_NP locale, for example [CURRENCY] #,##0.00;-[CURRENCY] #,##0.00 'lif' native numbering may be identical to 'ne', is it? If so, we could map that. I assigned MS-LangID LANGUAGE_USER_LIMBU 0x0657 mapping to lif-NP.
