Last modified: 2014-03-07 11:44:46 UTC
Introduce a new paragraph style attribute, named “List Level”, to format a normal paragraph as a numbered paragraph with the indicated list level via its paragraph style's attributes. Import Microsoft Word document accurately that contains the list level value in its paragraph styles.
Created attachment 75579 [details] A patch for the feature of "Introduction of a List Level attribute for paragraph styles"
Oliver is the experienced developer and should say, what to do with this patch. My opinion on it is this: The patch cannot be used in this form, because: - it is based on a version of OOo, likely around 2009. In the meantime some files were moved, e.g. from svx to cui - it has not a patch form - there exist no explanation what defect/feature the patch tries to solve and how it is done - it has author remarks, but we have agreed not to use such - it has a unclear license
Thank you Regina.
In the former days (before OpenOffice founds its new home at Apache) I already started to work on the integration of this work together with jade_gong. We had created a corresponding CWS, but due to the changing time in April 2011 this work was not finished. It is a feature that had been introduced in ODF 1.2 and it will also improve the interoperability with Microsoft Word documents. An corresponding specification document also exists - http://www.openoffice.org/specs/writer/numbering/ListLevel.odt Let us keep this issue open, may be someone (or myself) finds the time to introduce the feature based on the patch.
I am volunteering to support the work on this issue, if someone picks it up.
Sorry, this issue was in unconfirmed status and I didn't know developers may work on issues which are not confirmed. Thank you Oliver.
(In reply to Edwin Sharp from comment #6) > Sorry, this issue was in unconfirmed status and I didn't know developers may > work on issues which are not confirmed. > Thank you Oliver. No problem. You just noticed that the status of this issue was not correct.
