I inserted a block arrow in a text document, saved the document, closed it. When
I reopened the document, only the text was been saved, not the arrow. Made many
attempts, but with the same result.

In which format did you save?
Please describe step by step what you did.
Try this in a current 3.3 version.

Cannot reproduce using odt or Word 97-2003 doc format. Please state in which
format you try to save.
