Single-slide presentation showing the problem

Select fonts are distorted when rendered in slideshow mode. I can't be completely sure whether it's just distortion (slight vertical stretch) or substitution with other font, but either way, it did not happen in 2.x.

I'm attaching a presentation showing the problem as well as two screenshots, one while editing, one while viewing.

I was able to replicate the bug using the presentation that was supplied. Upon closer inspection of the images, it appears that both images illustrate the issue (bug2.png illustrates it more clearly). If you look at the word “text”, the top of the ‘ex’ goes above the horizontal bar of the letter ‘t’. In the courier family of fonts, the top of the ‘ex’ characters should match the top of horizontal bar of the letter ‘t’. This behavior is inconsistent with how Microsoft PowerPoint displays text.

Steps to replicate;
1)	Open OpenOffice.org Impress
2)	File > Open… > Select ‘bugs.odp’
3)	Adjust the zoom to 100%.
4)	The ‘ex’ of the word ‘text’ is taller than the horizontal bar of the ‘t’.

I tested this on Ubuntu 11.04 (x64) with patches current to 10/03/11, 2 GB RAM, with an Intel CORE i7 CPU. Only minimal additional software was installed on the test machine; OpenJRE (v 1.6b22-1.10.2-0ubuntu1~11.04.1). The native version of LibreOffice was removed and replaced with OpenOffice.org 3.3.0 (OOO330m20, Build:9567). I was able to reproduce the effect on OpenOffice.org 3.4.0 Beta 1 (OOO340m0, Build: 9583).

I attempted to replicate OpenOffice.org 3.3.0 and OpenOffice.org 3.4.0 DEV on Microsoft Windows without success. When the presentation is viewed on Windows, the top of the ‘ex’ characters are aligned with the horizontal bar of the letter ‘t’. It appears as though this issue is confined to Linux versions of OpenOffice Impress.

I tested this on Windows 7 (Ultimate 64-bit) SP1 with patches current to 09/25/11, 2 GB RAM, with an Intel CORE i7 CPU. Only minimal additional software was installed on the test machine; Microsoft Office 2010 (Professional 64-bit with SP1), OpenOffice.org 3.3.0 (OOO330m20, Build:9567), OpenOffice 3.4.0 Development (DEV300m106, Build:9582), Anti-Virus (Avira), and Java Runtime Environment 1.6 update 27 (32 and 64 bit version).

It looks like the font is being ‘vertically stretched’ for the top of characters which are supposed to align with the typeface median as opposed to having the font substituted. It might be possible that their x-height is being calculated incorrectly.

reproduced on Redhat 6.1 against Aoo_trunk 1376366.

On Windows XP SP3 it's OK. This is only a Linux problem.

If you look at the word “text”, the top of the ‘ex’ goes above the horizontal bar of the letter ‘t’. In the courier family of fonts, the top of the ‘ex’ characters should match the top of horizontal bar of the letter ‘t’.
