Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 118166
Letter(s) following numerals are displayed in regular font instead of italic font
Last modified: 2017-05-20 09:46:37 UTC
If we type the following markup: 2x the letter x is displayed in regular font instead of italic font. But if we type 2 x the letter x is now displayed in italics as it should be. Since Math markup is designed to read similar to English (whenever possible) but since 2x and 2 x have different effects, this must be a bug. BTW: the result shown by 2 x has too much space between 2 and x -- compare it with something like Fx and the effect is obvious.

Known problem, see issue 45689. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of issue 45689 ***
Forgot to write that this "discovery" was found by a user in the forum: http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=35382
The space is not different, but it looks different because one is italic and the other not and the formula editor doesn't know kerning. So I don't consider this as bug.

getting rid of value "enhancement" for field "severity". For enhancement the field "issue type" shall be used.
suggest owner close it,because 45689 can tracking the problem.
This bug had already been marked as duplicate a long time ago. But in comment 5, Regina had said that she didn't consider this as a bug, which made me quite confused.
