A MS Word document that nests its ordered lists differently if opened in oO Writer

I've just been caught opening a standard that uses ordered and nested lists extensively. It was created in Word and is in .doc format.

When I opened it in OO Writer, the lists seemed to be nested incorrectly. As a previous document I'd sent back to the secretariat (after editing in oO) had apparently had an error in the lists, I decide to check this new document by opening in my 2003 XP MS Word. In Word the document is correctly nested. I'm not sure why it changed these but there was no warning and can create quite some problems.

  File in question is attached.

Test file for Nested Ordered List
Comment 2 Urvishsinh Mahida 2012-10-01 00:16:48 UTC
I was able to re-produce the bug with attachment 77373 [details] on OO Writer v3.4.1 on Windows 7.
But could not observe the bug using a test file as attached (attachment 79697 [details])

Steps followed.
1. Downloaded and opened the attachment 77373 [details] in MS Word to observe the nested order list.
2. Opened the document (attachment 77373 [details]) in Writer to observe the bug.
3. I could verify that the sub heading 4.4.1 in MS Word had become 4.5 in Writer i.e the heading had lost a nested level.

Additional Comments
Test with the attached 73697 test file.
1. Created the test file in MS Word 2010 with Nested Ordered Heading List.
2. Opened the file in Writer and observed there was no change to Ordered nesting of the heading.
3. Observed a additional error. On pressing a tab once or more than once, on any of the heading cause a loss of formatting of the heading.

The new Test File is attached.
