Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 11991
Can't find sversion.ini after install cause: Hidden Networkstation
Last modified: 2003-09-08 16:53:51 UTC
I installed OpenOffice with the Workstation on my pc. The installation wend fluently. But after the setup was completed OpenOffice quickstart didn't start, instead the setup program started again and give me the option to repair or remove OpenOffice. I didn't onderstand it. So I decided to install the single user version. Again the setup went fluently. After the Setup completed succesfully OpenOffice give the following error: 'Cannot find \\Cadb188\c\Documents and Settings\bruno\Application data\sversion.ini.' (Cadb188 = name of my computer, Bruno = me) Because I know that my C drive is shared as a administrative networkstation as C$. The path to sversion.ini should be '\\Cadb188\c$\Documents and Settings\bruno\Application data\sversion.ini.' (mark the $ sign) I didn't find how I could change this in the files that are read in at startup, like bootstrap.ini, ... So I did the following: I copied sversion.ini to the OpenOffice program dir and changed bootstrap.ini row 3 to 'Location=$SYSBINDIR/sversion.ini'. (Difference is SYSBINDIR instead of SYSUSERCONFIG). Now OpenOffice started up! Next I removed the single user version of Open Office and installed the Workstation version with the above discribed addaptations and OpenOffice start up succesfully... I can work with everyting of OpenOffice exept that 1) the help does not function. When I start help/content, I'm able to edit empty help pages. 2) Configuration and macro's do not function. When I start Tools/Macro's I get the message: 'An unrecoverable erros has occured. All modified files have been saved and can probably be recovered at program restart.' When I push ok OpenOffice restarts. I have the feeling that all these problems are related to the fact that SYSUSERCONFIG variable can't handle my hidden C$ networkstation. I hope that you're able to fix this problem in orde to be able to install a proper working version of OpenOffice for me.
