Description Tim 2012-06-14 01:21:48 UTC
Steps to reproduce issue:
1. Insert a table with multiple rows and columns (I use 2X2 to keep it simple).
2. Insert some text into each cell.
3. Select one row of cells.
4. Click on the table properties button.
5. Click on the Font tab and change the font size. (I used 8)
6. Now select all cells.
(at this point when I was going through the steps, my Impress crashed. I first noticed this on an existing table, so you may need to save and reload to replicate.)
7. Click on the table properties button.
8. Click on the Font tab and change the font size. (I used 48).

The characters in the table remained their original size and were not changed to the new font size, 48.

OS: Windows Vista with an Intel processor.

I installed the latest version of OO and Java before duplicating.

Please let me know if you need any more information.

I tried to replicate bug in following environment:
- Windows XP
- OpenOffice 3.4.0 Build 9590 Revision 1325589

I wasn’t able to replicate bug with exactly the same steps as provided by Tim but after experimenting I got situation where font of one cell was not changed with following steps (regular font - steps from original bug report, bold - my changes).

1. Insert a table with multiple rows and columns (I use 2X2 too keep it simple).
2. Insert some text into each cell.
3. Select one cell.
4. Click on the table properties button Comment: font size could be changed also font size drop-down in toolbar, behaviour remains the same
5. Click on the Font tab and change the font size. (I used 8)
5a. Click OK
NOTE: Font size for text in selected cell changes to 8
6. Now select all cells.
NOTE: I don’t experience crash with saved either not saved table
7. Click on the table properties button
8. Click on the Font tab and change the font size. (I used 48).
8a. Click OK
NOTE: Font size for cell where it was changed to 8 remains 8, for other cells it’s changed to 48

Results of follow-up tests:
F1) After steps 1, 2 I repeated steps 3-5 for two cells, and then continued with steps 6-8a. Result: Font size was not changed for cells where it was changed with steps 3-5
F2) Same as F1 but changed font size one-by-one for all cells and then continued with 6-8a.
Result: Font size was not changed in any cell
F3) Same as F1 but in step 6 I selected two cells: one where I changed font size and one where text had “original” font size.
Result: Font size was changed only for cell where text had “original size”
F4) In step 3 instead of selecting one cell I selected two and continued with following steps.
Result: Font size was changed in all selected cells
F5) I added two lines of text into each row. I repeated F1 but in step 3 I selected only one line (and changed it’s font size), continued with following steps.
Result: Font size of text, where I changed font size, remained the same, but it was changed for line where font size was not changed
F6) Repeated F5 but instead of changing font size I changed in step 5 font face (from Arial to Verdana) and in Step 8 I chose Times New Roman
Result: Font face was not changed for line where it was changed in step 5.
F7) Repeated F5 but instead of changing font size I changed in step 5 font color (green) and in step 8 (red)
Result: color was changed for tall text in all cells
NOTE: After selecting text in one line in some cell and changing it’s color, color is changing for all text in this cell.
F8) Repeated F5 but in step 6 I selected all text in cell.
Result: Font size for all text in selected cell was changed.

Summary: It seems that critical condition for failure is changing font size or face for text (in one cell). After that the size or face of this part of text is not changing if selected several cells.

Attachment: Test_HP_119983. For Text 1-1 font size is changed (to 8) and for Text 2-2 font face is changed (to Verdana). Select all cells and try to change font size and/or face and you will see that font size is not changing for Text 1-1 and font face for Text 2-2.
