Description sarah 2012-10-15 11:57:58 UTC
I have the latest version of openoffice.org downloaded a couple of weeks ago.

In Impress users can select what color a hyperlink will appear before and after it is visited, for example:

Hyperlink color: blue 03
Visited hyperlink color: white

Hyperlinks do take the hyperlink color, but do not change once visited. With the example settings above, newly created hyperlinks would take the correct blue 03 color, but once clicked they would remain blue 03, rather than changing to white.

This makes it very difficult to keep track of actions performed in the presentation session.

I have successfully reproduced this issue according to these same steps:
1. Create new Impress document
2. Type some words in Title, Heading, and Outline Styles
3. Add a hyperlink to each of those words
4. Go to Tools>Options>OpenOffice>Appearance>General and select different colors for Unvisited and Visited hyperlinks
5. Show slideshow
6. Click on links

Result
The links are correctly loaded in a browser, but the links do not change to their visited color.
The links correctly change to the unvisited color I have only just changed.

Expected Result
Once clicked, the hyperlinks should change to the color specified in the settings.

Configuration Details
Tested on a Windows 7 machine, 64b Home Premium OS, 4GB RAM, Intel i5, Acer Laptop.
I am running the same OpenOffice version, 3.4.1.

Alternative Tests (all resulting in the same behavior/result)
1. Restarting the application
2. Restarting the operating system
3. Hyperlinks in Writer
4. Importing .pptx document
5. All outline styles
6. Across different pages
7. Across different styles
8. Auto-corrected vs manually created hyperlinks
9. Created a new color scheme
10. Click links fast repetitively but no sign of the color changing even for a split second

According to the OOO forums, this issue has been observed across Mac OSX 10.5 and Linus(Fedora 17) system also:
http://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=44621

Instructions in Help to change color
Change the attribute of all hyperlinks
1. Open the Styles and Formatting window.
2. Click the Character Styles icon.
3. Right-click the "Internet Link" or "Visited Internet Link" character style, and choose Modify.
4. In the dialogue box, select the new attributes, and click OK.

OS: Windows 7
Open Office 3.4.1

The bug can still be reproduced. Richards comments make it very easy to follow and you can also see what alternative tests he has tested.

I used PowerPoint as an oracle for this. In PowerPoint the hyperlinks doesn't work in edit-mode, they only work if you have it in "play-"mode. In the play-mode the hyperlinks change color (in PP). In Open Office, the hyperlinks work from both edit- and play-mode, but they does not change color at any time. So you never know what link you clicked on already (if you don't remember them).

For me it feels like there is something wrong. There is a feature, but it is not working as expected.

OS: Windows 7 Professional 64bit Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9400 @ 2.67GHz 8GB RAM
OO: 4.0.0 Beta version AOO400m1(Build:9700) - Rev. 1444151

I did the steps;
1. Create new Impress document
2. Type some words in Title and Heading
3. Add a hyperlink to each of those words
4. Go to Tools>Options>OpenOffice>Appearance>General and select different colors for Unvisited and Visited hyperlinks
5. Show slideshow
6. Click on links

And my result was as before, it is still not changing color after you clicked the link.
Even if you don't get the slideshow running (but you press the link), the links does not change color.

I've tried with different links; to webpages and to documents but no change of color so far.

Another help to change color (taken from Beta version 4.0.0):
1. Go to Tools -> Options -> Open Office -> Appearance
2. In Appearance go to General and check in boxes for unvisited and visited links.
3. Change color and press OK

OS: Windows 8.1 Enterprise
OO: 4.1.1 AOO411m6(Build:9775) - Rev. 1617669

I can reproduce this issue similarly to what others have reported:
* Under Tools --> Options --> OpenOffice --> Appearance --> General, adjust the Visited and Unvisited links to different colors.
* Add a hyperlink to a slide's body or title.
* F5 to play the slideshow.
* Select the hyperlink.

After performing these steps, verified that the link does not change colors.

MS Powerpoint 2013 hyperlinks do change color after being selected.

Vicki Lynch, (4/10/15)

I was able to replicate this issue:
Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium on Dell Inspirion 15 Pentimum (R) Dual-Core CPU T4200 at 2.00GHZ 3.00GB RAM
Open Office: 4.1.1 A00011m6(Build: 9775) - Rev 1617669

Able to reproduce this issue:
1) Open Open Office - Presentation
2) Presentation Wizard Opens
3) Select Empty Presentation and click 'next'
4) Screen 2 - Select a slide design - Presentation Backgrounds - Water
5) Select output medium - slide and click 'next'
6) Screen 3 - Select Slide Transition, Effect: No Effect, Speed: Medium
7) Select presentation type: Default and click 'next'
8) Screen updates to show blank slide
9) Click on Title Field to add Title and type in hyperlink - for this purpose I used: http://www.yahoo.com
10) Able to click the hyperlink and be redirected to Yahoo website.
11) Verify that hyperlink does not change color once visited.

*I did try different slide layouts but the issue remains. The layouts I tried were:
-Title Slide
-Title, 6 Content
-Title, Content
-Title, 2 Content and Content

*I did go to Tools>Options>OpenOffice>Appearance>General and selected different color combinations for Unvisited and Visited hyperlinks but issue remains.

*Issue is reproduced in editing and slideshow views.

From my last review, I did an upgrade to the latest version 6.3.3.2 and the bug is still replicable.

That's LibreOffice, isn't it?

Not our project... ;-)

You're totally right, Apache_OpenOffice_4.1.7_Win_x86_install_en-US , this is the one used. Used also the other tool and both have the same issue from what I see in my machine Windows 2012 R2.
