Insert fields don't work. Only the words such as 'page numbers', 'date', etc show up.

It looks as if the menu "View" - "Fields Names" is selected. Can you check this?

The option is globally set on the dialog from the menu "Tools" - "Options" - "OpenOffice Writer" - "View" - "Display" - check box "Field codes"

Go to "Tools" - "Options" - "OpenOffice Writer" - "View" - "Display" - Check on check box "Field codes", then the bug can not repro.
