Description ccostisick 2013-04-03 18:12:25 UTC
When adding pictures to slides, they don't all show up when the slide show is played. It is very frustrating.

I tried to reproduce this on Windows Vista 32-bit and Windows 7 64 bit with AOO 3.4 but was unable to do so.

Steps followed to try and replicate this issue:
1. Opened a new Impress blank presentation
2. With an empty slide open select Insert > Picture > From File
3. Added an image that was 400x200 pixels and of type jpg to the empty slide
4. Selected Slide Show > Slide show

Outcome: The image was displayed as expected

I tried to replicate this with the following image types:

png
gif
animated gif
jpg
jpeg
bmp
tiff

I also tried this with different dimensions:

10000x10000
5000x5000
1000x1000
400x200
100x100
10x500
500x10

Other tests that I ran:

Images on individual slides
Multiple images on one slide
Transparent images
Overlapping images
Images with different dimensions to the original file
Images extending out of slide borders
Slideshow with multiple slides
Images overlapping text
Cropping images
Changing z index
Changing alignment
Re-opening file after saving

None of these tests could reproduce the issue.

System Configurations:

PC1:

Memory: 8GB
CPU: 3.3 GHz Quad core
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Open Office version: 3.4.1

PC2:

Memory: 2GB
CPU: 1.6 GHz Dual core
OS: Windows Vista 32-bit
Open Office version 3.4.1

As this is a core feature of Impress, this could be considered quite a severe issue as images are frequently used in slideshows so anyone experiencing this issue probably won't use Impress to create their presentations. However, its difficulty to reproduce suggests it only affects specific configurations. Perhaps more investigation is needed on lower spec hardware.
