Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 122942
Download page says 4.0.0 but 3.4.0 is what is sent
Last modified: 2013-08-20 18:29:39 UTC
Web page shows auto download. Select for this and it downloads: Apache_OpenOffice_incubating_3.4.0_Linux_x86-64_install-rpm_en-US.tar.gz The download should be 4.0.0 shouldn't it? I say this because I am wanting to upgrade and what is downloaded is what I already have from over a year ago. Meanwhile, you are offered older releases, if you want to select them (which what I have listed above is an option!!). But I did not select an older release, I asked for the latest (which is 4.0.0, right?).
Thanks for your report, please can you tell me how the download was initiated and from where? Please write the exact URL. In the meantime you can get the 4.0.0 version from here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/openofficeorg.mirror/files/4.0.0/binaries/en-US/Apache_OpenOffice_4.0.0_Linux_x86-64_install-rpm_en-US.tar.gz/download
NOTE: I have just upgraded two machines from SUSE 11.4 to 12.3 (all 64bit). MY machine is getting different results. URL that starts this: http://www.openoffice.org/download/ This displays a Large radio button that contains: ----- Download Apache OpenOffice 4.0.0 Click here for the most recent version for Windows (EXE) and English (US). Get all platforms, languages, language packs | Source code and SDK | Portable USB versions and third-party ports | Older and legacy versions: 3.4.1 + 3.3.0 | Signatures and hashes: KEYS , ASC , MD5 , SHA256 | Release Notes ----- [Say WHAT???] Sent me here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/openofficeorg.mirror/files/4.0.0/binaries/en-US/Apache_OpenOffice_4.0.0_Win_x86_install_en-US.exe/download Which now gives me: Apache_OpenOffice_4.0.0_Win_x86_install_en-US.exe <<< This is a Windows executable!! Give me a few moments and I will try to recreate with the other system where I ran into the original problem.
Sorry, there was some problem with the other system that has caused me to have to re-install (update actually) SUSE 12.3. As soon as I can I will retry the test on that machine.
Thanks for your feedback. For the moment I'll close this issue. Please feel free to reopen at any time when the problem is occurring again and it is reporducible.
