Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 123034
"Zugänglichkeit" should be "Barrierefreiheit"
Last modified: 2013-09-17 06:40:24 UTC
The German readme file (OpenOffice/READMEs/README_de.html) translates "accessibility" literally as "Zugänglichkeit". The usual German term in this context is "Barrierefreiheit" (absence of barriers).
I agree, and that affects all usage of "Zugänglichkeit", in menu 'Tools -> Options -> OOo', in Help, elsewhere.
The same translation is used in AOO 3.4.1 as far as I can see.
This translation is also used in OOo 3.3.0
There is also 'Zugangshilfen' e.g. in Ubuntu. I see no reason to change this, as all terms can be used.
