Line above x

Hello,

Only under WIN 8 PRO
(My version is 64)
4.0.0 and 4.0.1 revision 1524958 French

It's correct under WIN 7, Vista
Or Linux RPM and DEB

The horizontal line of the root square (and N-th Root) is not attached to the sign V

For any configurations,
It's a pity that this line is fatter than the rest of the signe V.

Best Regards,

Please check, that the font OpenSymbol ( file opens___.ttf ) is installed on your system. If you do not find the file among your AOO installation files, you can download it from https://svn-master.apache.org/repos/asf/openoffice/trunk/main/extras/source/truetype/symbol/

Then double-click the formula to replace the faulty preview graphic.

Please report back, if this solves the display problem.

helo,
Police symbol √ is installed on my WIN 8 system.
OpenSymbol True Type v 102.2

Even reinstalled, the display remains the same.
(as LibO 4.0.5 or LibO 4.1.1)

The formats are identical with WIN7 (or Vista in US)
Menu : Format > Font...
Formula fonts : Times New Roman,Italic for Variables,
Times New Roman for Functions, Numbers and text
Custom fonts
Serif : Times New Roman
Sans : Arial
Fixed : Courrier New
and
Menu : Format > Font Size...
Base size = 12pt
Relative sizes Text = 100%
Indexes = 60%
Functions = 100%
Operators = 100%
Limits =60%

Sorry,
 but this RC2 version 4.0.1 is very beautiful nevertheless!

That version of the font has been installed with LibreOffice. Your problem has been reported too on the LibreOffice bug tracker. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60268

Please try to uninstall that font and install the font from the link I have posted. Does the problem remain? (Unfortunately I haven't got a Windows 8 and so can neither try it myself nor confirm it.)

Hello,

I had to delete the police by "regedit"
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\FontSubstitutes
because WIN 8 prevents from deleting a police just because she is used,
even in mode without failure...
I took advantage of it to delete Linux Libertine G and Biolinum G, installed without warning anybody by LibO who make AOO crash!

Installed your file OpenSymbol as administrator.

Delete all the versions of LibO.
Restart WIN 8

No change.

Even the table of replacement of polices "Liberation" by OpenSymbol
does not solve the problem.(bug 60268 Jacques Guillerin)

The subject in the French forum : http://forum.openoffice.org/fr/forum/viewtopic.php?p=219772#p219772
I suppose that it exists in the English forum ?

Sorry

Hi,

We have exactly the same issue (win 8 64 bits / OpenOffice 4.0.0 or LibreOffice 4.0.5.2). Reinstall OpenSymbol font doesn't solve the issue.
