Description Rinat 2013-10-12 10:01:13 UTC
Whenever I open several big documents, for example 3 calc files, office opens them in several processes.

And if one of them hangs (not actually, but it takes too long to open), if I kill one process, there are all documents closed.

And also openoffice opens one document at the time, not 3 of them. I mean it uses CPU (only one core) and everything, but other two just waits before first will be finished.

How can I open several documents in separated independent processes?

@reporter:
Thank you for your feedback – unfortunately important information we will
need to reproduce your problem is missing.
Please add all information requested in following:
a) Write a meaningful Summary describing exactly what the problem is
(most reports here are concerning prolbems with documents)
b) Attach a sample document (not only screenshot) or refer to an existing
sample document in an other Bug with a link; to attach a file to this
bug report, just click on "Add an attachment" right on this page.
c) Contribute a document related step by step instruction containing every
key press and every mouse click how to reproduce your problem
d) Attach screenshots with comments if you believe that that might explain the
problem better than a text comment. Best way is to insert your screenshots
into a DRAW document and to add comments that explain what you want to show
e) if possible contribute an instruction how to create a sample document
  from the scratch
f) add information
f3) concerning your PC (video card, ...)
f4) concerning your Operating System (Version, Distribution, Language)
f5) concerning your AOO version (with Build/revision ID if it's not a
public release) and localization (UI language, Locale setting)
f6) AOO settings that might be related to your problems
(video hardware acceleration, Experimental features enabled, ...)
f7) how you launch AOO and how you opened the sample document
f8) Whether your problem persists when you renamed your user profile
(Quit Quickstart before!) before you launch AOO (please see
     <http://www.openoffice.org/development/releases/3.4.1.html#AOO3.4.1ReleaseNotes-KnownIssues>)
f9) Whether that worked in former OOO / AOO Versions

Please submit separate bug reports for Writer, Calc, Draw, it's	improbable that your problems with different document types have the same roots

a) LO and AOO opens all documents in one process (soffice.bin)
And if one of documents hangs, if I will force one process to close, there are all documents closed. Also LO opens them ONE BY ONE , not several at once.

b) https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B5BI-Z5zydxhTFBlbi1hSGdmbk0/edit?usp=sharing
this spreadsheet take long time to open
(try to open one, after that any other document (odt, odp), and kill one of processes whether it hangs or not)

f) notebook AMD APU-450 2 core, AMD radeon HD 6320 384 Mb, DDR3 4 Gb
Ubuntu 12.04 x64, last stable libreoffice from official sites, Windows 7 x64 sp1 Home Premium last stable libreoffice from official sites

PC Celeron e- 3300 2 core, Nvidia 120 1Gb, DDR2 3 Gb, Ubuntu 12.04 x32, last stable libreoffice from official sites, Windows 7x64 Home Premium last stable openoffice from official sites

This problem with ALL documents. If one hangs others will wait endlessly.

screenshot of the issue

I have installed Libreoffice on my job PC(CPU 4-cores), opened 4 copies of one file. Here the screen shot. 25-percent means one core.

@Rinat
Your problem is that if you wand to close/terminate 1 hanging document you have to kill the complete soffice.bin (in WIN), so that all changes in all documents (after last autobackup) will be lost?

Comment 6 Rinat 2013-10-13 01:56:19 UTC
1) there 3 soffice.bin on screenshot, but if i kill one of them(in WIN) they are all stops, in ubuntu all documenst opens in one process
2) office opens ONE document at moment, other two just wait before first will be opened

p.s. this promblem not only for me (I'm sysadmin), for my colleagues too(secretary and teachers).
