Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 123887
Factory settings --> default settings
Last modified: 2017-05-20 10:35:28 UTC
A representative example: 1. File - New - Spreadsheet 2. Tools - Customize... - Toolbars 3. Reset -> "The toolbar configuration for OpenOffice Calc will be reset to the factory settings. Do you want to continue?" Apache OpenOffice doesn't have a factory...
So it is. What's the alternative? Initial settings? Original settings? Condition as received? (a) Already in 3.3.0 (b) Also Translations are affected, I see similar in DE, SV, EU (c) Better solutions for FR (paramètres initiaux) (d) Same in LibO 3.5 on UBUNTU Linux, so OS=ALL (e) In OOo 2 there was "Standardeinstellunt" (default settings), but that's not optimum.
The three relevant occurrences in our source code, found with http://opengrok.adfinis-sygroup.org/source , seem to be: /aoo-trunk/main/cui/source/customize/ cfg.src 780 Message [ en-US ] = "The menu configuration for %SAVE IN SELECTION% will be reset to the factory settings. Do you want to continue?"; 791 Text [ en-US ] = "The menu configuration for %SAVE IN SELECTION% will be reset to the factory settings. Do you want to continue?"; 796 Text [ en-US ] = "The toolbar configuration for %SAVE IN SELECTION% will be reset to the factory settings. Do you want to continue?"; This is easy to fix, and translations will follow their normal cycle, so this won't have a significant impact there. Let's just agree on the wording, on the dev list or QA list. Honestly I don't know how "factory settings" sounds to a native speaker. When we agree, post the proposed changes here and I can easily apply them.
Will update when agreed. Thank you.
And the winner is... default settings. vote results: default settings - 1 initial settings - 0 original settings - 0 condition as received - 0
+1 on default settings.
"pescetti" committed SVN revision 1558921 into trunk: #i123887# Factory settings -> Default settings
Fixed. You can test it with the next Windows nightly build http://ci.apache.org/projects/openoffice/ with a revision higher than 1558921.
Thank you Andrea
