Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 124266
Open MS WORD 2007/2010 XML .docx fails, opens Filter Selection Dialog
Last modified: 2023-01-13 20:10:16 UTC
Created attachment 82636 [details] Example document demonstrating the issue. The sample attached is failing the autodetection, and manually picking format (Word XML 2003 or 2007) doesn't help.
Effect is still reproducible with server installation of "AOO 4.1.0-Dev – English UI / German locale - [AOO410m1(Build:9750) - Rev. 1566800 - 2014-02-12]" on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)", own separate user profile: 1. From AOO start Center File dialog try to open reporter's sample Unexpectedly filter dialog will open, none of the MS filters will work 2. Close dialog 3. From AOO start Center File dialog try to open reporter's sample with any suggested Microsoft text document format: > none of the file formats will work Additional Info: (a) AOO does not offer "MS WORD 2007/2010 XML", only "MS WORD 2007 XML" So this one might be an enhancement request? My skills are not sufficient to do research in document source code (b) LibO 4 and Softmaker Freeoffice (and MS WORD Viewer) can open reporter#s sample document (c) Document opened from LibO 4 and saved without document format changes can be opened from AOO (with heavy damages) (d) Also my older AOO / OOo versions fail to open with the same symptoms
Added to OOXML meta issue (bug 124268).
The issue was also observed on Windows 2000 and Windows 7 32-bit. All of that on ru_RU Office, on Russian system locale.
This document opens perfectly in the latest Git, so it must have been fixed by the recent OOXML patches. Judging by the _rels/.rels file: ---snip--- <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <Relationships xmlns="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/package/2006/relationships"> <Relationship Id="R724F01F5" Type="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/officeDocument/2006/relationships/officeDocument" Target="/word/document.xml"/> </Relationships> ---snip--- The Target="/word/document.xml" attribute with a wrong leading slash, tells me it's bug 117672. Resolving DUPLICATE. Thank you for your bug report and sample document :-). *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of issue 117672 ***
