Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 124528
Need User defined default for 'Paste Special'
Last modified: 2017-05-20 10:13:04 UTC
I would prefer paste unformatted text as the default paste and since this may be a minority preference, I would like to be able to select it as my default paste then switch to what you now call normal as a special paste. The advantage for me is I'm frequently pasting and finding bad formatting so I have to undo it and select paste special unformatted to get the text into my default font. At least this would help until the current default paste gets smarter so it doesn't mess up so many things.

Create a macro and assign it Ctrl+V
For reporter's main problem "Paste as plain text" Edwin's suggestion can be done easily. I will attach a sample document containing Macro "Unfor" (I simply created with Macro Recorder). But the general request is more manifold. I also know that situation that again and again I need a very special Paste special Configuration, and rather often it is damaged. So I have been thinking for some better Macros than the simple "Unfor" for years, but I never found the time (and my skills are limited). I agree with Edwin, without a really good and complete concept it's useless to ask for an enhancement here, the macro / extension approach is more promising. <http://www.ooowiki.de/KategorieMakro.html> is a fine collection for German users, <https://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewforum.php?f=21> is a good place to ask for help. Because I also am interested in a solution for my personal problems I will start a discussion there and inform reporter (despite his inappropriate comments).
