Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 124882
Tag for "URL Name" input line missing in Hyperlink Toolbar
Last modified: 2014-05-13 13:14:32 UTC
Steps how to reproduce Reproducible with "AOO 4.0.1 – German UI / German locale [AOO401m3(Build:9712) - Rev. 1520285 2013-09-05 13:52:01]" on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)", Common 4.0 User Profile: 1. From AOO Start Center open blank new Writer document 2. If Necessary: Menu 'View -> Toolbars -> Hyperlink Bar' to make Hyperlink toolbar visible 3. Type few nonsense words like "rit 89065g fd rioeoaei " into document 4. double lick one of the words (and remember the word) > becomes higlighted 5. Click between some words > higlight disappears, caret flashes between "words" 6. Type "OpenOffice" into URL input line 7. Click find-binoculars icon in Hyperlink toolbar > List with available search engines appears 8. click Google Expected: Google search for "OpenOffice" Actual: Search for last selected nonsense word Find Help Text: --------------- 11. Writer <f1> 12. Search Tab, search for "Hyperlink Bar" Headings only 13. Go to Hit "Searching With the Hyperlink Bar" Help Text --------- "2. Enter the text you want to find in the URL Name field. ... " That seems to tell that search will be for Text in URL input line. But experiment shows that Search will be for selected word in text. So Help should be changed to "2. In document highlight string you want to search for" Additional Info: ---------------- (a) same result in Calc (b) Old issue, Help already misleading in OOo 2.0.2
Hyperlink Toolbar has 2 input fields: 1. URL Name 2. Internet URLs The help text is right and it works. Maybe it would be a better solution to place the search button directly behind the URL-Name-Inputbox.
You are right. I never used that ... Such an empty Combo box is very unintuitive, there should be a Description Tag left from the input line "URL Name" or "Target Name". And I also think that the Search Icon should better be nearby Name input Line.
