Description cdmooo 2014-05-30 13:33:54 UTC
Dragging and dropping any image (GIF, JPG, PNG) into an open Writer document opens that image in Draw for editing. (as opposed to inserting the image into the document as expected)

I consider this a bug as there is no reasonable expectation that any inserted image should be opened in an image editing application when the desired outcome of the drag and drop is to see that image inserted into the document at the cursor position.

I have seen this bug reported on forums, but not the official bug report list of OpenOffice.

If this is, for some reason, a feature, then I would request some sort of preferences option to alter the behavior for those who do not require editing on images that are being inserted into a document.
