Screenshot of Windows Explorer statusbar

When exporting from Impress to PowerPoint the exported presentations do not include a thumbnail preview image needed by Windows Explorer. Instead the preview in Windows Explorer looks like attached screenshot.

Steps to reproduce:

(1) Open sample presentation, e.g. attached file "Sample.odp"

(2) Save presentation as PowerPoint, the result should be like attached file "Sample.ppt"

(3) Select PowerPoint presentation with Windows Explorer

The desired behaviour is to show a thumbnail preview of the first slide within the statusbar of Windows Explorer.

Reproduced the bug by using steps provided by Thorsten with
Open Office 4.1.1 AOO411m6(Build:9775) - Rev. 1617669 and
Open Office 3.3.0 OOO330m20(Build:9567)
on Windows 8.1, Intel i7 4700MQ, Geforce GT 750M, so it's not a regression.

Saved with PowerPoint same file has correct preview (screenshot comparison http://postimg.org/image/tcrzf4b7v/)

Happens with presentation, not only provided sample.

Bug is quite minor, especially that it only affects users who use tiles in explorer, but might be more significant for people depending on visual clues when differentiating their presentation.
Was present in the product for a long time already.

I was able to reproduce this issue using:
- Open Office 4.1.5 AOO415m1 | Build ID 9789
- Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2010
- Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 x64
- Windows 10 Enterprise Edition x64

This issue is reproduced with the same steps mentioned by Thorsten Wagner. However, doing some additional testing, I could notice that it is reproduced on Windows Explorer file list area as well, when having the views configured to:
- Extra-large icons
- Large icons
- Medium icons
- Tiles
- Content

One thing to point out is when having the views setup as below, the problem is just visible on Windows Explorer status bar.
- Small icons
- List
- Details

I followed the next steps for this testing:
1) Create a new presentation using Impress
2) Add a text to a slide
3) Save the presentation as Power Point, you should have a PPT/PPTX file as result
4) Open Windows Explorer and look for the file just saved
5) Change the View to "Medium icons"
Note. - You could try with the other views mentioned above.
6) On Windows Explorer, review the file list area and the status bar for the PPT/PPTX file.

Actual Results: PPT/PPTX file doesn't have the thumbnail preview image needed by Windows Explorer, so it is showing a black image (please see the attached image).

Expected Results: PPT/PPTX file should show the thumbnail preview image of the first slide on file list and status bar of Windows Explorer.

Notice this bug is 100% reproducible with any of the Windows Explorer views.

Follow up testing:
Besides that, I performed the following testing and I could find that:
- This bug is also present when saving the impress file as PowerPoint template.
- This bug is reproduced with MS PowerPoint 2016 version.
- This bug is NOT reproduced with other Open Office products like Writer and Calc.

Other notes:
- The underlying error here, may be due to when Impress is saving the file as a Power Point presentation, it is not redirecting to show a thumbnail preview image.
- This bug is important because since Impress is compatible with PowerPoint, it should be useful for the user to that are used to see this functionality on PowerPoint, continue seeing this thumbnail preview image, and in case not able to do that, I suggest just to show the default PowerPoint thumbnail preview image.
- One may argue it’s a cosmetic issue, but its constant surfacing contributes to user’s negative perception of the product, and give a chance to the competitor.
