It is impossible to insert a Hyperlink without a format.
The format is defined by:
Tools/Options/OpenOffice/Appearance/Unvisited links
- this sets the foreground colour
- there is no way of specifying the background colour
- the checkbox "On" is ignored: the format is always active
Inserted Hyperlinks have an ugly - in my case grey - background.
- the "Visited links" setting has no effect
If you remove the format, the Hyperlink is removed too.

Currently this is implemented as it was designed in the past (even if you don't like it ;-) ). Therefore I've changed the issue report into an enhancement, so that it can be changed in the future.
