Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 12635
"The file opens___.ttf already exists"
Last modified: 2003-09-08 16:53:51 UTC
Every time I install a new version of OpenOffice.org on Windows I get the dialog message "The file opens___.ttf already exists in folder "C:\WINDOWS\Fonts" - Replace the existing file? For example, installing 1.1 Beta, the existing file is 100 kB Modified Wednesday 15 january 2003; new file 54 kB last modified Tuesday 4 march 2003. I am not sure if it also happens or not on a system that an older version of OOo had not been installed on. If I select Yes, the installation proceeds normally, so it's a nuisance rather than a serious problem, but if it could be handled without user intervention it would be more convenient and also give a better impression.
We won't suppress this overwrite warning because it might delete some important files/fonts. For example: for StarOffice it might delete a user font with the same name as a StarOffice font. If the user has bought a font he wouldn't be amused to findout that StarOffice/OOo has overwritten this font without request.
Not a bug.
