Thanks. It is better than anything.
Only in LibreOffice formatting is a little lost.

Summary: I was able to reproduce this bug with the file provided in this report. I tried to open this in both Microsoft Word 2010 and Open Office 4.1.2 I should note that I most of my settings are default and in English, so maybe this has to do with some language settings or language packs? I'm thinking that maybe the issue is with the Russian Language of the file. Any further analysis would be helpful.

I confirm that the Russian Language document opens fine in Word 2016 on Windows 10 Pro x64.

Opening the file on the same system with Apache OpenOffice 4.1.2 provides an immediate crash report ("stopped working") from Windows. This appears to happen during the conversion from .doc format.

A couple of additional observations:

 1. The original .doc file has tracked changes.

 2. Opening the file in LibreOffice 5.0.0 x64 succeeds although the formatting is messed up, leading to a 33 page document instead of the 14 pages show in Word 2016 with only change bars and not the changes. With the deletions and insertions made visible in Word 2016, the document only expands to 16 pages.

I was able to open the attached doc with AOO 4.1.13 on Ubuntu 16.04 without problem.

I get a 16 page document in Cyrillic including comments and changes.
I did not check the formatting.

On Windows 10 I get a crash during the initial import.
