Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 127233
Dialogue Format → Columns… doesn't reset values as expected
Last modified: 2017-02-21 08:29:08 UTC
Steps to reproduce: 1. Create new document 2. Go to Format/Columns 3. Set columns = 2 (or any other value) 4. Set Line to 5.00 (or any other value) 5. Click “Ok” 6. Go to Format/Columns 7. Set Line to None 8. Click “Ok” Actual behavior: Observe the page - there are spaces between columns. Check Format/Columns/Spacing - 0.00 is set. Expected behavior: There are no spaces between columns after removing a line.
I'm using macbook pro with macOS Sierra 10.12.1 and Apache OpenOffice 4.1.3 AOO413m1(Build:9783) - Rev. 1761381
When I tried to reproduce this failure, I found out that A. The failure happens only when Set columns = 2 (I tried setting 2-6, 20, 40, 50) B. The failure happens also after writing some text. Therefore I added an optional step after step 1. C. The failure won't show up if you do steps 6-8 after step 1: 1. Create new document (1.1. Optional: Write some text) 6. Go to Format/Columns 7. Set Line to None 8. Click “Ok” 2. Go to Format/Columns 3. Set columns = 2 4. Set Line to 5.00 (or any other value except none) 5. Click “Ok” 6. Go to Format/Columns 7. Set Line to None 8. Click “Ok” D. Details: Apache OpenOffice 4.1.3 AOO413m1(Build:9783) - Rev. 1761381 2016-09-29 02:39:19 OS Name: Microsoft Windows 10 Home Version 10.0.14393 Build 14393

(In reply to Shani from comment #2) > When I tried to reproduce this failure, I found out that... And of course, Steps to reproduce the failure: 1. Create new document (1.1. Optional: Write some text) 2. Go to Format/Columns 3. Set columns = 2 4. Set Line to 5.00 (or any other value except none) 5. Click “Ok” 6. Go to Format/Columns 7. Set Line to None 8. Click “Ok”
I am able top replicate this bug on Windows 10 Pro with OpenOffice 4.1.2 AOO412m3(Build:9782) - Rev. 1709699 I used the steps provided by Gennady: 1. Create new document 2. Go to Format/Columns 3. Set columns = 2 (or any other value) 4. Set Line to 5.00 (or any other value) 5. Click “Ok” 6. Go to Format/Columns 7. Set Line to None 8. Click “Ok” I was able to reproduce this same result for 2, 3, and 4 columns. For greater than 4 columns, the space is nonexistent.
The dialogue doesn't reset values as expected, not only the behaviour as described so far. Additional e. g.: 1. Open Format → Columns… 2. Click on the 4th icon for columns with different width. → Look at the different width for column 1 and 2. 3. Click on the 2nd icon for columns with equal width. → Width for columns 1 and 2 stay different but [x]AutoWidth is activated. 4. Click on the 4th icon for columns with different width. → Width for columns 1 and 2 stay different but [_]AutoWidth is deactivated. 5. Activate [x]AutoWidth. → Icon for columns with different is still activated but width for column 1 and 2 are equal.
