ive got a problem with the document linked to values in the document to another document for values, and the open office crashes every time. although not before the values were input and linked. and now it crashes when i add the links. too many?

process:
ive got a calculator for my budget. comparing an input linked value from a dropdown list; "='file:///J:.../nby 2017_2018/dj_mm_calc_2017_2018.ods'#$'food calc 1'.C1082" which works and inputs a value 'food item'. then i have a compare the value to a price calc formula "=IF ($C22=F21;1;0)" and it compares for each of the 700 items if it is the item and marks a 1 or a 0 for item exists or not 'food ate'. each of the items 13 x 3 = 36 items per day for 7 days per sheet to calculate compare and match up and mark it 1 exist or 0 does not exist. then it vertically calculates how many per sheet of each item "=SUM(F22:F300)", and transfers the numbers to a summary of 700 items total numbers for a 1-7 days per sheet for a total of 63 days per document "=md_1_7.F304" each item respectively and sum total "=SUM(C11:C19)"; 1-63, 64- 126, 127-189,190-252, 253-315, 316-365, then totaling each document with totals in a summary document. it all works.

problem:
when i try to link the totals from the document each separate to the summary document open office crashes every time. which has 700 links per sheet x 6 = 4200 links, for a grand total of 700 links total ;'food ate or not for 365 days all documents'. 

i had them linked earlier '365 day summary' but deleted them, then finished all the documents and there summarys which worked individually separate; 700 horizontal calc 252 vertical for a total summary of 176,400 calculations totalling 700 total summary for one sheet, x 63 = 11,113,200 calculations per document transfering 700 totals and 700 items identified to the summary page.  

then i attempted to relink the summarys of all the documents summarys to the final summary and not one link links it crashes openoffice every time with one link linked on the 'final summary of 365 days' at 700 items per document 6 documents total for a final summary document. it wont acccept one of the 700 items 1 document total link to the final summary document and crashes. so smaller number of input values and it worked.


more process to do:
all for to transfer to another document for calculation 365 days food ate or not recalculate from sizes i ate or not to sizes bought in store to price for grocery list printout for rebuy food at store. so this portion of the entire program is not able to work because of crashing when i total links calc and transfer. 

this is what it all does:
so i inventory the food i bought, resize the food to what i eat, mark what i ate, calc what i ate, and recalc size of food, and recalc for repurchase exactly what the size of food the store sells i need or want to rebuy at the store, and then print it out.  

question:
am i doing something wrong? is there too many links? max link ability in open office? i understand its not the information in the cells i provide. i understand its not the process im doing as it works. its just too much i guess?
am i going to have to make it a smaller calculation equation and smaller documents then all linked to the total summary to calculate, because the values are not going to change just how much is calculated per document?

do you need a sample of the documents?
